When you're taking a trip to a new place, one of the first things you do is check a map to make sure you know where you're going. You also want to make sure you have that map handy so you'll know how to get around when you get there.

The same principle holds true for homebuyers. When buyers are searching for a new place to call home, they need a map that helps them know how to get around when they find your listing online. While the goal of every listing agent is to get people to visit the home in person, the first interaction consumers have with your listing is online.

The map they need in that first interaction is not one that provides directions to the home, but instead one that provides directions within the home. The map they need is a floorplan, a map of the home's layout and fixtures.
