People born from 1981 to 1998 (Millennials) made up 43% of all U.S. homebuyers last year. In fact, Millennials have been the largest homebuyer cohort since 20141. This is partly due to their sheer numbers - about 66 million. Despite financial hurdles, many Millennials have been able to enter the housing market, often with help from their parents.

Vertical videos shot in portrait mode are tailored for mobile viewing because they fill up the entire screen. By leveraging vertical videos, real estate agents can effectively reach and engage the all-important audience of mobile-first consumers.


Creating effective vertical videos involves three key requirements:

  • Focus on Visual Appeal: Ensure your video only showcases the property’s most important features.

  • Keep it Short and Sweet: Social media users typically have short attention spans. Aim for a video length of 15-60 seconds.

  • Include a Call-to-Action: When you post your video, prompt viewers to take action such as visiting your website or contacting you for a tour of the property.

Once your video is ready, it’s time to promote it:

  • Instagram: Use Instagram Stories and and don’t forget to use relevant hashtags.
